Present-day alternative to difezan

Combined herbicide dimogran produced in the form of water-dispersed granules was developed. The vegetation and field plot trials conducted in the Moscow Region studied the influence of dimogran on the growth and development of some crops. The evaluation of the phytotoxicity of dimogran involved 11 types of test crops. Dimogran was used in the range of doses from 0.75 to 2000 g/ha by postemergence spraying. The most susceptible to dimogran were white mustard and sugar beet. Medium-susceptible were buckwheat, peas, corn. Spiked cereals were rather dimogran-susceptible. Among them barley was specially pronounced. Its maximum allowable application rate of dimogran was 1650 g/ha (recommended – 120 g/ha). Dimogran applied at the doses 100-120 g/ha by spraying gramineous grain crops in the period of 2-3 leaves -full tillering effectively destroys bilobate weeds. Dimogran applied for winter crops suppress by 87-100% vegetative wintering weeds. In spring due to the sufficient effect of dimogran the first wave of the emerging weeds is suppressed by 84-100%. The active ingredients of dimogran in field conditions decompose practically completely before the start of vegetation of crops following in crop rotation after grain crops, therefore, they not dangerous for raps, sugar beet, peas, buckwheat, corn sowing after dimogran-treated grain crops. Dimogran is characterized in high efficiency (14-20% of preserved harvested crops). It is a promising alternative for difezan, as it has some advantages (low effective doses, low phytotoxic post-effect, convenient to use [preparative form). Dimogran is recommended for state registration and wide-scale production application
