The average total production of meat (2003-2005) in the world was 259.630 million tones, Europe 52.863 million tones and Asia 108.123 million tones. In the same period the average annual production of beef was 59.488 million tones, pork 100.493 million tones and poultry 78.935 million tones. The difference between the production of beef, pork and poultry and total production which is 19.702 million tones presents the production of sheep, goat and venison. The average total production of meat in Serbia from 2003-2005 was 452 thousand of tones, average production of beef in this period (2003-2005) in Serbia was 92.7 thousand tones, pork 251 thousand tones, poultry 63.7 thousand tones and sheep 19.7 thousand tones. The production of giblets was appromaximately 24.7 thousand tones and fat 88.7 thousand tones. Differently from the trend in the world and Europe where athe production of meat is increasing since 1990 the production of meat in Serbia has been decreasing.
