The paper evaluates the competitiveness of Slovak agri-food products revealed in the trade exchange with EU countries. The analysis targets trade shares, growth competitiveness index, index of revealed comparative advantages, export/import diversification ratio, kilogram prices and decomposition of net export. From the analysis results that at the sector level by trading with EU countries and of them with Visegrad Four countries (exclusive of Hungary) Slovakia has considerable reserves. Concerning a decrease of import prices of Slovak agri-food commodities, increasing import prices and negative trade balance (with the EU, Czech Republic and Poland) we should specialize in export and take more bearings at processed products. According to revealed comparative advantages index the competitiveness was reached by grains, oilseeds, sunflower oil, milk, cheeses, live beef cattle, beef, starch and malt.
