Irrigation and fertigation belong to important factors in cultivation systems used in progressively managed orchards. Cultivation of trees trained in slim spindle is very economical and appropriate system. Some winter varieties of pear-trees (Bohemica, Lucasova) and Williamsova variety were planted in the western part of Podunajská nížina lowland and fruit assessments were carried out in 2004-2006 seasons. To evaluate the effect of irrigation one control, not irrigated treatment was added to the plot trial with three other treatments that have got different levels of fertilization. The crop quality was assessed and both the quantity as well as the chemical analysis of pear leaves was evaluated in order to investigate how irrigation and fertigation or better said their synergic effect might influence yield aspects in pear production. At the same time also the soil water captured in lysimeters was chemically analyzed.
