This article describes chemical and biological characteristics of two soil types, Eutric Cambisols and Regosols, in the soil profile. Within the framework of biological characteristics the following ones were examined: microbial biomass amount - Cmic, dehydrogenase activity - DHA, abundance of bacteria and their spores utilizing both organic and inorganic sources of nitrogen, asymbiotic nitrogen bacteria (Azotobacter chroococcum,) as well as actinomycetes and microscopic fungi.
