Chromated Copper Arsenate (CCA) absorption efficiency of Thyrsostachy siamensis Gamble bamboo culms with 0, 1 and 2 drilled holes per internode after soaking for 1, 3 and 7 days was investigated using atomic absorption spectrophotometer. The results revealed that the number of drilled holes and soaking periods significantlyaffected absorption of CCA. The highest CCA absorption (1,847.44 ppm) was found in the 2 holes bamboo, whereas, the lowest one (306.64 ppm) was recored in the no hole one. For treating periods, 1 day and 3 days gave no significantly different in CCA absorption, whereas, 7 days soaking gave highest value. The effects of number of drilled holes depended on the length of soaking periods.
