Efficacy of antagonistic Pseudomonas fluorescens SP007s WP product of 6-month shelf life (10**(13) cfu/ml) was studied to control dirty panicle of rice. Field experiment was conducted during July-Sep, 2008 at Angthong famer growing region to develop management strategies for this disease with 6 treatments and 4 replications. They were arranged in CRD that evaluated under natural disease infection. The results showed that T4 of seed treatment with 10**(6) cfu/ml SP007s product (1g product /100 ml) at 10 ml/1 kg seed and 3-foliar spays at 30, 60 and 90 day-old plants with 10**(6) cfu/ml SP007s (5g product/20 L H20) resulted in high efficacy to reduce incidence of dirty panicle with 81.5 percent that was equivalent to different with T3 of seed treatment and high application frequency of 5-foliar sprays (15, 30, 60 and 75 day-old plant). Regarding the efficacy of pathogen inhibition, T4 of reduced application frequency time was also higher in suppression of dirty panicle pathogens including Alternaria padwickii, Cercospora oryzae, Curvularia lunata, Fusarium semitectum, and Helminthosporium oryzae with 72.2, 100, 90.4, 89.6 and 83.1 percent respectively. Strain SP007s and its shelf life formulate tested seemed to enhance biocontrol activity not only decrease in disease severity and number of antagonist application but also promoted plant growth of rice clump, panicle, and kernel resulted in highest yield increased with 29.2 percent. That was not significantly different T3 (P=0.05). The result presented hear demonstrate the most promising approach of schedule antagonist application that is valid for effective management of dirty panicle disease and reduced cost production of rice.
