X-ray diffractometer method of diagnostics of soil moistening degree was used in the conditions of the Republic of Belarus for the evaluation of the level of neocrystallisation of soils with different degree of hydromorphism on the basis of the determination of the quantity contents of clay minerals in the clay fractions. There were analysed sod-podzolic light gel-like, gel-like and gel soils formed on different by genesis and granulometric composition grounds (parent rock material and calcic horizon), as well grounds in thestate of nature. Research was based on application of X-ray diffractometer method. The mineral structure and content of illuvial horizons of half-bog sod-podzolic soils were examined and investigated. The labialization index of changes of illuvial horizons of half-bog oils and sod-podzolic soils in clay fraction was inspected. Research results revealed that structural changes of clay minerals of clay fractions of illuvial clay horizons of sod-podzolic soils of different hydromorphism degree and different granulometric composition caused the following: in course of the intensification of moisture degree in spite of the granulometric composition there was stated the increasing of content of minerals with labile crystal lattice (vermiculites and smectites) with the simultaneous lowering of hydromica quantity. The labialization indices were calculated basing on the quantitative relations of new clay minerals to hidrous micas in clay fractions of illuvial horizons
