De igual forma puedeser útil para los usuarios y especialistas de la industria y el comercio de la madera. La xiloteca del Instituto de Investigaciones Forestales (IIF)Julián Acuña se crea en 1970 con una metodología basada en la investigación sistemática de las especies maderables cubanas. El objetivo de este trabajo es dar a conocer el estado actual de la xiloteca Julian Acuña del IIF. La colección está representada por más de quinientas muestras distribuidas en 57 familias, 185 géneros y 263 especies.

The collection of wood allows to have a valuable source of knowledge so much from the practical point of view as for the investigation, the docencia and the international exchange. The xiloteca of the Institute of Forest Investigations (IIF) Julián Acuña it is believed starting from the year 1970 with a methodology based on the systematic investigation of the species Cuban maderables. The collection is represented for more than 500 samples distributed in 57 families, 185 good sand 263 species.
