Plant collection and investigation have taken action for purposes hosts identification of pests, diseases and weeds scince many years ago in Botany Dept. and it is continued. Several specimens of the following palnt families viz. Zygophylaceae, Solanaceae, Convolvulaceae, Malvaceae, Papilionaceae, Rubiaceae, Scrophulariaceae, Caryophylaceae, Rosaceae, Liliaceae, Amaranthaceae, Campanulaceae, Plumbaginaceae, Asteraceae, Papaveraceae, Gramineae, Cyperaceae, Cruciferae, Euphorbiaceae and Primulaceae have been idenified in this project. Two hundred four days collecting trips to West and East Azarbayejan, Ardebil, Gilan, Golestan, Mazandaran, Esfahan, Hamedan, Kermanshah, Kurdestan, Lurestan, Sistan, Baluchestan, Khorasan, Semnan, Khuzestan, Kerman and Hormozgan provinces were made. During all these expeditions 1286 plant specimens were collected. Among the identified specimens 8 new species and one new subspecies for the science3 new genus, 11 new species and 2 new subspecies for Iranian flora2 new genus, 38 new species and 2 new subspecies for IRAN herbarium were introduced in 44 scientific publications in scientific journals and proceedings of congresses.
