In order to evaluation of agronomic and physiological characteristics of different rapeseed cultivars and growth parameters correlated with seed yield, an experiment was conducted based on RCBD design including 14 cultivars of winter and spring types for two years and with three replications in Mashhad .Each plot was consisted of six 30 cm rows. Throughout the growing season , some traits were recorded including ,the time of occurrence and length of each growth stage ,plant height ,number of pod per plant ,number of seeds per pod,100 seed-weight ,pod length ,dry mater accumulation ,crop growth rate and seed yield .Results of two years were analyzed as combined and Duncan's multiple range test was used for means comparison. Rapeseed cultivars in this experiment were divided into three yield categories.Based on this classification, high yielding cultivars were Olara,Okapi,SLM046 and Hyola42,with 4980,4426,4360 and 4263 kg/ha seed yield respectively.Cultivars ,Orient Fornax , Parade , Alice, Syn1 and Zarfam with 4176,4169,4005,3883,3860,3799,kg/ha respectively, ,classified as mild yielding cultivars. Hansen, Colvert and VDH8003 were the low yielding cultivars with 3683,3525 and 3463 kg/ha seed yield. High yielding cultivars had superiority in ,maximum dry mater accumulation and crop growth rate.Pod length showed a distinct correlation with yield .Remaining the green area after anthesis can be increase the pod number per plant and pod green area as a photosynthetic source. This is led to increasing of seed yield in rapeseed cultivars.
