Community-based Participatory Action Research (CPAR) in coco-based farming system is among the major thrust of the Department of Agriculture-Western Mindanao Integrated Agricultural Research Center (DA-WESMIARC) to increase farmers' productivity and income through crop diversification and animal integration under coco areas. In order to create great impact, the project had been introduced in the farmer's field with participation of the community. The presence and involvement of the people's organization (PO) in the implementation process helped the sustainability system of the project and technology diffusion. Since the project had only limited funding, other farmers in the community benefited and/or availed farm inputs from the repayments of farmer-cooperators. The cultivation management of the land space under coco gave a significant yield increment of up to 30.74% kg/ha copra. Significant increased of farmer's net income was also obtained from the intercrops; however, animal integration had augmented further the profitability of the farmers up to PhP 47,027.00/ha/yr. The cost of labor in the production system also served as additional income of the farm families since they were the one conducting most of the field activities. Moreover, the increased in utilization of coconut products through processing and product development created more demand and added income of the farmers. On the 4th year of the project, the Marginal Benefit Cost Ratio (MBCR) analysis in all location was excellent ranging from 2.01 to 2.50.
