An investigation was carried out on the anatomy of different vegetative and reproductive parts of a Fucalean alga, Cystoseira indica (Thivy et. Doshi) Mairh [=Stokeyia indica Thivy et. Doshi). Its nomenclature has been confirmed and its occurrence in the northern part of the Arabian Sea is assured. This is the first detailed study of the anatomy of its various thallus parts.
