The yield quality from orchard grass cultivated as a monoculture and in mixtures with different legumes

The research was concerned with the estimation of fodder quality from orchard grass cultivated as a monoculture and in mixtures with 50 percent of red clover or alfalfa in conditions of different nitrogen fertilization (0, 30, 60 and 90 kg/ha N). The obtained results showed that the examined mixtures had no differences with regard in the total protein, but the cultivation of orchard grass as a monoculture had a lower content of this element. The content of raw fibre in the plants was fluctuating between 274-320 g/kg of dry matter
