Production potential and dietary value of fodder made from the Notec Canal valley grasslands [Poland]

The aim of the study was to evaluate the efficiency of grasslands estabilished on highly mineralized, hydrogenic soils. The habitat conditions of the studied farms were typical not only for studied area, but also for other meadow habitats located in river valleys. During nine years of studies, the most significant increase in efficiency was noted in the years preceding Poland's accession to the EU. Based on the stabilized milk production was achieved by increasing the number of cows, as well as the grasslands area
