Valorization of the fodder score and natural values of meadow communities of the Molinio-Arrhenatheretea class from selected river valleys in the region of Wielkopolska [Poland]

The aim of this investigations was natural and fodder value assessment of meadow communities occurring in selected river valleys. Approximately 5000 phytosociological pictures were anlaysed and the results served as the basis for the evaluation of species wealth: mean number of species in pictures, floristic diversity and extent of synanthropization. Using Oswit's methods, the assessment of the natural value was carried out. This involved evaluation of the current dry matter yield of communities, determination of the structure of plant fodder groups, proportion of species valuable from their fodder value and plant community fodder value score and included the occurrence of melliferous and herbaceous plants
