The aim of presented work was characterization of the physical, physicochemical and chemical properties of phaeozems occurring in Milicz District (Poland). In collected soil samples following analyses were prepared: texture, specific gravity, bulk density, pF up to 4.2, vertical water permeability, pH in KCl, plant-available forms of P and K, total organic carbon and nitrogen, contents of CaCO3. Soil represents different subtypes of strongly gleyed phaeozems. Soil texture is dominated by sand containing up to 4 percent clay. Specific gravity ranged: 2.39-2.70 g/cubic cm. Bulk density 1.25-1.67 g/cubic cm and total porosity 37.7-50.4 percent
