Due to intensive agricultural use the chemical properties of medium and heavy soils changed and that change in some cases have a range of acid degradation (decrease of pH values, decrease of base saturation fo soil sorption complex (V) and decrease of available Mg content). The main aim of these investigations was to indicate soils in which degradation processes are easy to define, as well as to define of degree of this process and stress the needs of protection activities. The obtained results show that soil from Kurcewo (Poland) can be determined as poorly degraded, and soils from Kurcewo 2, Nowielice, Debica, Ostoja and Stobno are influenced by this process but not yet degraded
