During two years the yield of ground mass and chemical composition of grass-legumes mixture of different combinations was studied on the economy of Institute for Agriculture in Negotin (Serbia). For the mixture composition there are used legumes: alfalfa (Medicago sativa) and yellow starry (Lotus corniculatis), and perennial grasses: orchard grass (Dactylis glomerata) and tall fescue (Festuca arundinacea). With different relations of grass-legumes mixture gained the insight which combinations are characterized by high productivity of green mass, crude protein, resistance to low temperature and plant diseases and favourable chemical composition. In this experiment for the control were used alfalfa and yellow starry as a pure cultures. Along standard analysis on quality the content of carotene is examined for all combinations of grass-legumes mixtures and control crops.
