In this paper the concentrations of available and total forms of sulfur (S) in two main soil types in Serbia that are pseudogley and chernozem are presented. Soil samples were taken from different locations under the different vegetations. The content of total S was within the normal range for these soil types, while the content of the available forms of S was at the level enougt for plant needs. Correlation between the forms of S and content of soil C and N indicates that the processes of mineralization predominates and are favourable in the studied soils. Based on these results were concluded that supply with labile forms of S is not a limiting factors for plant growth on studied pseudogley and chernozem soils.
