After the first cases of Avian influenza infection were confirmed in Serbia 2006, panic and nervous behaviour among public were present. The Goverment of the Republic of Serbia adopted Program of scientific measures that regulates monitoring of health protection procedures for the year of 2009, with especial reference to Avian influenza. This Program of measures anticipates active and passive monitoring of the presence of Avian influenza virus in poultry, game birds and wild birds populations. The results of serology monitoring we performed indicate that during the period from 2008 to 2009 there were no positive poultry flocks to Avian influenza. The attempts to isolate Avian influenzavirus from feces and tissues from wild birds gave negative result.
