Traction as one of the most important characteritic of agricultural tractors is determined theoretically at development phase and experimentally through field tests. Working conditions in real operation are significantly different from theoretical ones assumed at design stage and standardized testing methods. One of specific cases is related to in-furrow operation that is characterized by changing adhesion on left side and right side wheels. Paper presents a mathematically based plowing model of in-furrow tractor operation. Field test results indicate traction characteristics degradation for in-furrow operation.
