The results of two-year study (2007 and 2008) showed that increasing amounts of nitrogen significantly affect the intensity of tillering (increasing the number of secondary stems), number of leaves and leaf mass proportion in the total vegetative biomass. The highest stems were developed in plants that are fertilized with 105 kg/ha nitrogen. Further increase of nitrogen did not affect this morphological characteristic. Climatic conditions were more favourable in the second year, because the rainfall distribution was more suitable. But they did not influence the effect of nitrogen fertilizers used which indicates the expressed xeromorphic character of this hybrid.
