The paper presents the development and testing of one-dimensional unsteady flow in a branched network of open channels with internal boundary conditions. The Von-Neumann stability analysis of the Preissmann scheme was done for the simplified (linearized) flow equations. The numerical solution of the complete de St. Venant equations was tested using a series of numerical experiments, including standard ASCE tests. The model of the branched channel network includes internal boundary conditions, such as weir and sluice gate. Internal boundary conditions were checked by making sure that each condition satisfies related hydraulic laws for a series of unsteady flow situations during the wave propagation.
