Forest vegetation is one of the important factors in determining the climate of the local and global character. The spectral Landsat7 satellite channels have a significant application in the vegetation classification. The channels of the visible and near infrared part of the EM specter have been used, the period of taking images was mid-summer and these images cover the north-eastern part of Serbia (the area of Vrsac Hill). The multi-spectral processing of the satellite image has been carried out by means of unsupervised classification process (ISODATA method), and the spectral enhancement by means of: vegetation index, normalized difference of vegetation index (NDVI), as well as the transformed NDVI (TNDVI).
