In this report we study the challenges of applying a new vacuum coating technology experienced by the fish and pet food industries during the last 16 years to the pelleted animal feed industry, mainly in poultry, turkey and pig diets. It is the hope of the authors of this report that the conclusions found can be of help and will guide future experimental work in lipid or liquid addition to other pelleted fish feed species, i.e. shrimp or tilapia feed. Those in the animal, fish and pet food industry learn quickly from each other. They quickly apply the same techniques used for one species, to other species that at first seems not to be related such as in the case of light manipulation of growth on young chickens and that of young salmon.
