Seeds of the sensitive and expected resistant populations of Abutilon theophrasti Medik. were collected from several locations in Serbia. Their sensitivity to nicosulfuron and imazethapyr was examinated under controlled conditions. The results were statistically analyzed using LSD and t-test in the suite STATISTICS(R) 6.0, and based on the relationship of ED50 values expected resistant and susceptible populations were calculated resistance indices. Generally, all of the tested populations of Abutilon theophrasti show sensitivity to applied herbicides, actually resistance did not developed in expected resistant populations. Evidence for that is resistance indices, which values ranged from 0.12 to 0.62, depending on the population and the observed parameters.
