Several studies confirmed association between intramuscular fat and polymorphisms g.276TG and g.1191AG in FTO gene in pigs, which is known as a strong candidate gene for fat deposition. Experiment involved 47 animals of two genders (castrates and females) and two breeds (Krskopolje pig and hybrid 12). We analyzed the effect of interaction between g.276TG and breed/hybrid on fatness traits, measured after slaughtering, and fatty acid composition. This study confirmed association between g.276TG in FTO gene and both measures S, measured by DM5 in HGP4 methods, and also fatty acid composition of. m. longissimus dorsi and subcutaneous fat. Genotypes of FTO gene had different effect in Krskopolje pig and hybrid 12. Possible reason for different expression of genotypes is linkage of gene with a strong effect of fat deposition and fatty acid composition with FTO gene, which could be used as a marker.
