This study was carried out to investigate the effect of diet type, dietary essential oil supplementation and gender of the bird on the growth performance, carcass yield, some internal organ weights, serum antibody titres of IBD and ND and small intestine histology of broiler chickens. So, a 2x2x2x factorial arrangement was designed. Two diet type (based on either wheat or corn absolutely as the main creal), two feed additives (with or with out essential oil combination) and two gender (male and female) were the variables in the present study. The experiment was carried out with a total of 1600 broilers over a period of 42 days. The birds were randomly divided into 8 experimental groups housed in 32 floor pens (4 replicate pens/group).Bird density was 13 chicks/m2. the lighting cycle was 23h/d maintained. The experiment lasted for 42 days. Consequently, broilers fed on wheat-based diets had significantly lower body weight and bad body weight uniformity then that broiler given corn-based diets. However, EOC supplementation to wheat based diet in particular significantly improved body weight gain and feed efficiency of bath male and female birds than that unsupplemented regimen. Overall effect of dietary EOC on FCR was positive with statistic significance (P<0.05). Compared to no added program. The detrimental effect of dietary EOC on the overall performance of male broilers given corn based diet warrants the probable contradictions between rapid growth metabolism of males and active substance doses of essential oils. Hence, further studies are needed to clarity the dose response of essential oils with respect to highly digestible corn-soy based feeding strategies in both two genders.

Bu çalışmada yem cinsi, yeme EYK ilavesi ve cinsiyetin etlik piliçlerin büyüme performansı, kesim randımanı, bazı iç organ ağırlıkları, serum IBD ve ND titreleri ile ince bağırsak histolojisi üzerine etkileri incelenmiştir. Bu amaçla 2x2x2 faktoriyel deneme düzeninde bir deneme tertip edilmiştir. İki yem tipi (tahıl kaynağı olarak tamamen buğday veya mısır esaslı olarak hazırlanan yemler), yem katkı tipi ( temel yem karmasına EYK katılması veya katılmaması ) ve iki farklı cinsiyet ( erkek veya dişi) denemdeki temel değişkenleri oluşturmuştur. Deneme toplamı 42 gün sürdürülmüştür. Genel değerlendirme açısından yeme EYK ilavesinin yemden yararlanma düzeyini önemli düzeyde iyileştirdiği görülmüştür(P<0.05). Mısır esaslı yeme ilave edilen EYK'nın erkek etlik piliçlerin genel performansı üzerine olumsuz etkide bulunması erkek etlik piliçlerin yüksek gelişme hızı üzerine esansiyel yağların aktif madde dozları arasında olası ters bir etkileşimi işaret etmektedir. Bu durumu açıklığa kavuşturmak amacıyla yüksek sindirilebilirliğe sahip mısır esaslı yemler üzerinde yeni çalışmalara ihtiyaç vardır.
