The effect of acidified milk on body weight gain, some blood parameters and health in calves | Ekşitilmiş sütün buzağılarda canlı ağırlık artışı, bazı kan parametreleri ve sağlık üzerine etkisi

In this study, the effects of the acidified milk fed 4 lt per day in calves were evaluated by measuring some biochemical parameters in blood, the rate of body weight gain and illness during the experiment. For this purpose, 23 Holstein calves were divided as control (5 male and 4 female) and experimental (7 male and 7 female) groups. Twice a day (morning and evening), two litters of whole milk was given to the control group with nipple. At the same time, milk was acidified by formic acid, cooled-down to 18 to 20 °C and was consumed by the experimental group as the same amount and technique as control group. Calves were housed in the individual hutches and received water, hay and calf starter feed ad libitum. Calves were weaned on 45th day of the experiment. Each calf was weighed when the calves put into individual hutches at the end of the 3rd and 45th day of the experiment. The differences in the mean body weight between the two groups were not statistically significant (p> 0.05). Blood samples were taken from the jugular vein on the 4th, 8th, 15th and 29th days of the experiment. Lactate dehydrogenase (LDH), glutamic pyruvic transaminase (GPT), alanin aminotransferase (ALT), glutamic oxaloacetic transaminase (GOT), aspartate amino transferase ( AST), total protein (TP), albumin, glucose, cholesterol, trigliceryde, urea, creatinin, calcium (Ca) and phosphorus (P) in serum samples were measured. All blood values measured in control and experimental groups were in normal range. The incidence of diarrhea and pneumonia were observed less frequently and the recovery periods were shorter in calves fed with acidified milk.

turc. Bu çalışmada, günde 4 lt verilen ekşitilmiş sütün, buzağılarda canlı ağırlık artışı, bazı serum biyokimyasal değerler ve deney süresince gözlenen hastalıklar üzerine etkisi incelendi. Araştırmada 23 adet Siyah-Beyaz Alaca (Holstein) buzağı denemeye alınarak iki grup oluşturuldu. Kontrol grubuna (5 erkek, 4 dişi), sabah 2 lt ve akşam 2 lt olmak üzere, sağımdan hemen sonra biberonla normal tam yağlı süt, deneme grubuna (7 erkek, 7 dişi) ise formik asit ile ekşitilmiş soğuk (18- 20 °C) süt içirildi. Buzağılar 45. günde sütten kesildi. Bireysel bölmelerde barındırılan buzağılara deneme boyunca su, kuru ot ve buzağı başlangıç yemi ad libitum olarak verildi. Buzağılar üçüncü günün sonunda bireysel bölmelere konulduklarında ve 45. günde tartıldılar. Canlı ağırlık ortalamaları açısından gruplar arasında belirlenen farklılığın istatistiksel olarak önemli olmadığı (p> 0.05) bulundu.Buzağılardan 4., 8., 15. ve 29. günlerde jugular kan örnekleri alındı. Kan serumunda laktat dehidrogenaz (LDH), glutamik pirüvik transaminaz (GPT, Alanine aminotransferase-ALT), glutamik oksalasetik transaminaz (GOT, Aspartate aminotransferase-AST), total protein (TP), albümin, glikoz, kolesterol, trigliserit, üre, kreatinin, kalsiyum (Ca) ve fosfor (P) düzeyleri ölçüldü. Deneme ve kontrol gruplarına ait tüm kan parametre değerlerinin normal sınırlar arasında olduğu belirlendi. Deneme süresince ekşitilmiş sütle beslenen buzağılarda ishal ve pneumoni olgularına daha az rastlandığı ve hastalıkların daha kısa sürdüğü gözlendi.
