[Flax production: modern situation and perspectives of scientific research]

Analyzed are the main results of the investigation in fiber flax breeding, seed production, growing and harvesting technologies, primary processing, standardizing on and economics obtained while implementing the UAAN Scientific-techgnical programme (STP) titled Bast Crops. The achievements are noticed, certain drawbacks are revealed and the tasks for the years 2006-2010 are substantiated.
