Description on a new species in paramisgurnus (cobitidae) in Tuyen Quang province

Cobitidae is abundant, diversified with 9 genuses and 35 species widely distributed in the country. Recently, a study on fist fauna of Lo Gam Rivers has discovered a new species in Na Hang district, Tuyen Quang province named Paramisgurnus nahangensis n.sp belong to Paramisgurnus Sauvage, 1878, Cobitinae, cypriformes.This is the first time finding this genus in Viet nam. It has many characteristics as Misgurnus Lacépède, 1803 that has been found in the north provinces of Viet Nam such as no spins under eyes and five pairs of barbell ( two pair of mouth barbel, one pair of rostral barbel and tow pair of chin barbell ). However, there are still some different fea-tures which are Paramisgurnus having very long mouth barbell, rostral barbell longer than mouth length, the body covered with large scales, lateral line scales lower than 130 and the hem of above anh below caudal peduncle very developed: while Misgurnus having short muoth barbel, rostral barbel smaller than muoth length, the body covered with large scales, lateral line scales lower than 130 and the hem of above and below caudal peduncle very developed; while Misgurnus having short mouth barbel, rostral barbel smaller than mouth length, the body covered small scab, lateral line scanles inclue over 150, the hem above and below caudal peduncle less developed. In the world, Paramisgurnus was recognized having P.dabryanus Sauvage, 1878 manily distributed in Russian, China and Taiwan. The results of this study showed that one species recognized in Na Hang, Tuyen Quang is a new species with a new name P.nahangensis n.sp. the diffirences between two species are described as following: in P.nahangensis, origin of pelvic fin is front of origin of dorsal fin, the length leave tait 5.5-6.7 H, Lo=5.5-6.7 H, PV 2.2 VA, Lcd = 1.04-1.18 ccd, the origin of caudal fin has a black point; in P. dabryanus Sauvage has origin of dorsal fin is in font of the origin of pelvic fin, Lo=5.2-5.6 H, PV = 2.0 VA, Lcd
