Sungurlare area is famous for the cultivation of vines and use of grapes and wine from ancient times. The region is located upstream of the River Mochuritsa in the southern foothills of the Eastern Balkan Mountains. To determine the vineyard micro regions in this area are used GIS. Optimization problem is solved to determine the parameters of the climate and opportunity to ensure optimal conditions for the development of the plantation with the existing soil map. An analysis of suitable soils for the relevant restrictive conditions is done for growing a variety of grape production directions. Two micro regions producing quality white wines are outlined. Depending on soil and climatic parameters the relevant varieties and suitable rootstocks for vineyard cultivation are listed.
