The dependence of yielding capacity of millet (Panicum miliaceum) and dry matter yield on the crop sowing terms was analysed in the conditions of Grodno region of the Republic of Belarus. Research results showed that sowing of millet of Bystroe variety realized in June could not be considered as the optimal ones neither for grain nor for herbage production because the displacement of sowing terms from May to the first decade of June caused the lowering of yielding capacity up to 3,5 centner/ha (10,1%) and dry matter yield losses up to 2,2 centner/ha (4,9%). The presented stated lowering was observed every year in course of 3 years of realized studies. Lowering of millet yields in the conditions of displacement of sowing terms from May to June was proved by the lowering of field germination rate on 2,6%, crop viability - on 2,2% as well as the substantial lowering of seed weight on 0,3 grams that is of the statistic quantity for millet crops. Research results showed that sowing terms did not exercise influence on the content of crude protein in grains and dry matter
