During water reservoirs formation some negative processes are take place along the shore area. The most serious of them are re-formation of the shore line and its spreading inward the land, causing the damage of agriculture. The estimation of abrasion processes of water reservoirs in Belarus is made. Typical profile of the shore line readjustment (Lepel water reservoir) is presented. Morphometric characteristics of the objects of fixed surveillance on water reservoirs are shown. Correlation coefficients of linear readjustment of water reservoirs of channel and lake type are calculated. The main shore-forming factors and conditions are analyzed. The most important indexes of the process of shore line readjustment are presented. Among them are: geological characteristics of washed out ground; hydrological characteristics of the water reservoir; morphological indexes of shore line; morphometric characteristics of the water reservoir. A mathematical model based on criteria of similarity is developed for the abrasion processes forecasting. The variants of forecasting model application for different types of water reservoirs are suggested. Deviation of the forecast data from actual one should not exceed 15-20%.
