In the conditions of the Republic of Belarus there was realized a preliminary analysis of discriminating power of isozyme electrophoresis for identification of apple (Malus) cultivars. In course of the research there were analyzed 100 apple cultivars. The polymorphism in three enzyme systems (peroxidase, malat dehydrogenase, and glucose phosphate isomerase) was analysed using polycrylamide gel electrophoresis. Perosidase showed considerable variation among investigated apple cultivars. Using of peroxidase and glucose phosphate isomerase was sufficient for identification 92 cultivars of 100. A dendrogram of genetic similarity was constructed using of tree clustering. The dendogram was constructed for 34 apple cultivars. Analysis of denogram showed that all cultivars of apple were divided into 2 clusters. Separate clusters compound three cultivars Pamyat Sikory, Auxis, and Elena. They were the furthest in the genetic ratio from all cultivars and had foreign cultivars in their lineage structure. The second cluster included five groups of apple cultivars; they integrated 31 variety samples. The obtained results can be used in selection process and for elaboration of a system for identification of apple cultivars.
