In the conditions of the Republic of Belarus there was analyzed an evaluation method of apple (Malus) resistance to European cancer devised by the results of pathogen (Nectria galligena Bres.) artificial inoculation to one-year old seedlings of 23 national and foreign varieties and hybrids of apple. Immune varieties to given pathogen was not found among the tested varieties, however there was marked a differentiation between them by the degree of cultivar affection by the disease. A number of varieties characterized by weak development of European cancer which can be of interest for usage in breeding on resistance to given disease were marked out - Pamyat Sikory; Syabryna; Imant; Belorusskoye Sladkoye; Belorusskij Sinap and hybrid 84-125/39 (Belorusskoye Malinovoe x VM 41497). The presented method made it possible to speed up the evaluation of initial and hybrid apple material to the given pathogen that was dictated by the necessity of breeding intensification.
