In the conditions of the Republic of Belarus in 2009-2010 there was analyzed the influence of environmental factors in occurrence of gray rot (mold) of tulips (Tulipa) caused by pathogenic fungi Botrytis tulipae (Lib.) Hopkins and Botrytis cinerea Pers. The resistance of 349 tulip cultivars from the Central Botanical Garden of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus to gray mold was estimated. In course of the study the degree of plant morbid affection was evaluated according to the five-grade scale. Depending on the degree of disease development the tulip varieties were divided into groups of resistance: resistant (0-5%); slightly affected (5.1-15.0%); average affected (15.1-40.0%); intensely affected (40.1-60.0%); highly affected (more than 60%). Darwin hybrid tulips species and hybrids (Amoretta; Apeldoorn; Apeldoorns Elite; Beauty of Apeldorn; Comic; Downglow; Franklin D. Roosevelt; General Eisenhower; Juliette; Lefebers Memory) were highly resistant to botrytis blight, late flowering tulips showed the lowest resistance level.
