In the conditions of the Republic of Belarus in the Institute of Experimental Veterinary Medicine n.a. S.N. Vyshelesskij there was developed a new iodine and selenium containing preparation Jodis-Vet, water solution of vitamins and mineral compounds for the oral administration. It formula contained the following components: ascorbic acid; folic acid; pantothenic acid; sodium selenite; potassium iodide; sodium phosphate; 3-natruim substitution; 12-aquareous. There was studied the toxicological characteristic of the vitamin and mineral preparation Jodis-Vet. Research results showed that the veterinary drug Jodis-Vet can be referred to marginally hazardous substances (hazard category 4). There was stated no intoxication of broiler chickens after administration of Jodis-Vet in 10-fold dose (9.9 ml/kg), 20-fold dose (19.8 ml/kg) and 30-fold dose (29.8 ml/kg). Jodis-Vet in dose 2.5 ml/head (1.3 ml/kg – 9.9 ml/kg of live weight) was not toxic for broiler chickens. The veterinary preparation rendered slight irritating effect on mucous coat.
