Development of methods of automated interpretation of eroded plot of top-soil in accordance with the hi-res space photographs on the basis of analysis of spectral characteristics of various degradation degree soils and also studying of influence of their various properties on spectral reflectance were realized in the conditions of the Republic of Belarus. The main research was conducted on the pilot site Shchemyslitsa. The method for automated interpretation of sod-podzolic soil of various degradation degrees with using of multispectral hi-res space photographs was proposed. The analysis of the obtained diagrams at field and laboratorial spectrometration show that for the samples of various degradation top-soils it could separate a plot of spectrum of 480-640 nm. Correlation of content of humus, black iron oxide and clay mineral in top horizon of eroded soils determinate a characteristic raise of spectral curve in wavelength domain of 480-640 nm. The observed dependence made it possible to use the multispectral hi-res space photographs at distant revelation, value and mapping of eroded soils. Index of black iron oxide could be able to use as a quantitative assessment of intensity of spectral brightness increase in green spectral region (500-600 nm) and characterize erosion class of soil covering.
