espagnol; castillan. Se realizó un análisis comparativo mediante una modelación matemática, para una situación de producción con 40 000 cerdas comerciales en dos programas de cruzamiento. En el programa 1 las cerdas comerciales eran F1 Yorkshire (Y) x Landrace (L), mientras que en el programa 2 fueron de un triple cruce del tipo YL x Duroc (D). Los resultados indican que tanto la producción total por cerdas en cada programa es superior en el de la cerda F1 (YL) y un verraco paterno terminal. La prolificidad de la tercera raza es muy importante en determinar la productividad de un programa de cruzamiento de este tipo, por lo que la conclusión principal de este análisis fue que debe seguirse empleando en Cuba la cerda F1 (YL) y mantener la raza Duroc por el lado paterno.

A comparative analysis was made through a mathematic model with 40 000 commercial sows were Yorkshire F1 (Y) x landrace (L), while in program 2 they were from a triple cross type YL x Duroc (D). The results indicate that the total production by sows in each program is higher in the case of sow F1 (YL) and the finisher boar. Prolificacy in the third breed is very important to determine productivity in this kind of crossing program. The main conclusion in this analysis is that we should continue working in Cuba with the ow F1 (YL) and keep the Duroc breed on the finisher boar line.
