The phenomenon of entrepreneurship, or the figure of the entrepreneur, has been the subject of considerable debate in the literature, labelling it as a phenomenon marked by numerous stereotypes, with no clear conceptual notion and meaning. The objective of this study is to evaluate the proposed survey instrument, based on data, still inchoate, obtained from the application of such a structured survey instrument to try to identify the entrepreneurial profile of farmers in a Brazilian dairy production chain. Early applications of the instrument indicate the need for adjustments in content, and in the very process of data collection, which could lead to more homogeneous and reliable results considering the peculiarities and idiosyncrasies inherent to the rural areas.
