Using mechanical weeders in rice culture and other row crops have been common these days.Conoweeder is one of this tools that in compare with hand weeding causes a considerable reduction in labor costs and time consuming. This study conducted in order to investigating the cono weeder efficiency in our rice fields. The experiment design was a randomized complete block with three replications and eleven treatments.Weeds randomly sampled from each plot using a 1×1 m2 quadrate,14 and 28 days after transplanting and also before harvesting. The weeds were separated into grasses, sedges and broadleaves and dried.Major weed were includes: Barnyard grass (Echinochloa crus-galli),Umbrella sedge (Cyperus difformis) and Common water plantain(Alisma pantago aquatica).Weeding time also measured in each plot. After harvesting yield and yield components were measured. Results showed the maximum weed dryweight belonged to control treatment while the minimum weed dryweight was pertained to(Herbicide+1 time Conoweeder). Weeding time affected by treatments and there was a significant reduction by using conoweeder in compare with other methods. The minimum grain yield was belonged to control treatment while the maximum grain yield belonged to (Herbicide + 1 time Conoweeder). This study showed that using conoweeder not only reduce time of weeding and labor cost but also can result to more benefits via high yield production.
