An experiment was conducted to compare different methods of ensUing sugar beet tops and crowns on fattening Baluchi male lambs. Thirty- five lambs with 33.8 +4 Kg average weight were randomely assigned in a completely randomized design. Treatments were:A - sugar beet tops and crowns B- sugar beet tops and crowns + %10 wheat straw C- sugar beet tops and crowns + %20 wheat straw D- sugar beet tops and crowns + %30 wheat straw E- sugar beet tops and crowns + %40 wheat straw In first, sugar beet tops and crowns were chaped and then mixed with wheat straw according to mentioned levels and ensiled for 45 days. The ensiled materials were fed ad libitum ,with a diet containing 2700 Kcal/Kg ME and 14.6% CP for maintenance requirements. Dry mater intake and weight gain were measured each three weeks. The results showed that increasing the proportion of wheat straw in treatments, the daily weight gain and dry mather intake was decreased, However increased the feed efficiency Adding more than 20% wheat straw, into sugar beet tops and crowns caused maid contamination in the silages, so that 60% of treatment C, and 80 % of treatment D, was not feed to animals due to high maid contamination. Treatment A, was not also suitable for feeding due to had high moisture. ultimately, with considering all obselVations in this experiment ,treatment B, appeared to be better than others
