Primary survey and phenotypic recognition on Kermani sheep

In order to phenotypic recognition and determine breeding position of kermani sheep in kerman province with the studies project 1203 heads of sheep into 103 herds to procedure direct relation to herds and complete questionnaire have studied. In this questionnaire information of village, sheep houses and position of nutrient, reproduction, fattening, animal production, selling and health in herds have studied. In each herds 10ewes and all the rams have been studied in different parts of body including: organ shape, wool color and morphological distance. The result of this study concerning to sheep housing indicated that pen ventilation in total houses are nature and floor houses are in soil. The result about herd's position indicated that in herds the average rate mortality in lambs until weaning are 7.85%, average milk yield 316 gr/day, average of lactating month are 3.8 month and average daily gain in lambs at six month are 172.7 gr/day. Average weight in ewes and rams was 42 and 53 kg respectively. Average wool yield was 950gr/day.The result about nutrient of sheep indicated that sheep used 6.9 month from forage of rang and 4.4 month from hand feeding. The result about phenotypic trait and biometry of sheep's indicated that rams are homed and ewes are horn less, and 97.3% of sheep shave wool with white color. Specific spot, black color, have been observed in head, face, snout and hocks. Ears were mostly black and triangular. The back was often flat, fat tail and head was medium above nasal was flat to a few curve and also eye socket was flat to a few swollen. In determine morphological distance, height of the withers was 63.95, height of the pelvis 62.85, chest depth 28.9, heart girth 84.66, length from withers to pelvis 45.52, height of back 63.9, length of head 20.71, length of was 14.75, length of fat 25.53 and width of fat was 27.15 centimeter.
