The two last years has been a very turbulent period for the United States. The slowdown in the world economy in 2009 proved to be deeper and more widespread than originally anticipated. Most branches of the US economy felt the economic recession very acutely. However, the recovery, which has begun in 2010, is projected to be the long-term real GDP growth of even 3.3 per cent reached by 2011. The year 2009 was also a very bad time for the US agriculture but the specific nature of the production showed that the last year was much better in the branch than in the other branches of the US economy. Despite the difficulties in 2009, this sector seems to be more resilient to the unfavourable financial phenomena than the other branches of the US economy.
