The aim of the present thesis is to carry out the revision of the Latvian rove beetle fauna. Main tasks of the study: (1) to summarize literature sources on rove beetle fauna of Latvia; (2) to identify the collected material of the study and to check the correctness of identification of material in other collections; (3) to create a standard collection of the Latvian rove beetle fauna; (4) to compile a catalogue of Latvian rove beetle species; (5) to clarify and specify the distribution of rove beetles in Latvia; (6) to clarify the importance of surface micro-sculpture of rove beetle bodies in identification of separate problematic species and systematic of rove beetles.
