The selected 104 farmer/producer, 40 wholesaler, 40 middle man and 40 final seller were interviewed. Out of 120 farmers only 45% were literate and 78% farmers/ producers were married. They support their family through their own business, which were categorized as large ruminant breeders 69.09%, agricultural farmers or others (12.68%). They either open (55.11%) or shaded waras or sheds (44.62%) for housing their animals, among` shaded waras (29.44%) were katcha waras with part of those thatched and were semi pucca (15.42%). The farmers were categorized as buffalo farms (70.30%) and cattle farms (29.69%) and had an area of 1748.75 ft and 894 sq. ft. the mean number of animals were 40 buffaloes and 17.50 cattle. The farmer incurred average fixed costs of Rs.22500.00 and 15700.00 per cattle; while the recurring cost average Rs.2305.5 per buffalo and Rs.2615.7 per cattle. Beside the farmer paid marketing cost of Rs.154 per buffalo and Rs.134.00 per cattle.
