Interrelationship among grain yield and its economic characters in sesame
2009
Gadhi, J.A.
The research was carried out to ascertain the earliness and interrelationship between yield and yield components in Sesamum Indicum, L. (Pr-100/2, Pr-19/9, K-509, S-17, Sehwan, S-117, Pr-125, Pr-100/5). The experiment was laid out in Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) with three replication. The analysis of variance (ANOVA) displayed highly significant difference (P less than or equal to 0.01) for days to 75 % flowering, days to 90% maturity, plant height, number of capsules per plant, number of seed per capsule, and seed yield per plant. Number of branches per plant were only significant (P less than or equal to 0.05), while 1000-seed weight was non-significant. Maximum days to 75% flowering were taken by variety K-509 and maximum days to 90% maturity were taken by variety S-117, whereas, Pr-125 displayed superiority in five characters viz.
