Experiment was laid out in randomized complete block design (RCBD) with split plot arrangement, replicated three times using net plot size of 3.0m x 5.0m. The crop was sown on August 17, 2006 with using the seed rate of 25 kg per ha. There were 4 lines in each plot having an- inter and intra-row spacing of 75 cm and 25 cm, respectively. The experiment was comprised of three treatments viz., S1= Chemical sources (Urea) @ 120 Kg N per ha, S2 = Poultry Manure @ 5900 Kg per ha, S3 = Combination of chemical and poultry manure on equal basis 1:1, 1/3 urea were side dressed to the sowing lines of crop at the time of sowing and remaining urea at the time of the knee height stage and at flowering. All the poultry manure were used three weeks before sowing and in combination poultry manure also used three weeks before sowing and urea used in split doses.
